Mr. Lenoris Earl Abrams, Sr., a native of Thomas County, devoted many successful years to instruction in Vocational Agriculture. He spent his 32 years in Agricultural Education in Wilcox, Thomas and Mitchell counties.

Having grown up on a farm, Mr. Abrams wanted farmers to know the latest techniques in farming. He successfully conducted adult evening programs and farm tours. He also taught classes on agricultural structures such as pole barns and supervised their construction on the property of class members.

Mr. Abrams attended Fort Valley State College for three years before being drafted into the U.S. Army where he served two years. He returned to Fort Valley and received his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education.  He received his Masters of Science in Agricultural Education from Florida A & M University.

Mr. Abrams served as president of the Fort Valley State College Alumni Association and as the Thomas County Adult Farmer Advisor. He was also involved with the Thomasville Association of Retired Teachers and the Fort Valley State Agriculture Alumni Association. He won a seat on the Thomas County Commission where he served from 1986 to1992. He served as president of the Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials.
